Dalles Mountain Ranch, along with Horsethief Lake make up Columbia Hills State Park, a 3,338 acre Washington state park located 6 miles east of Dallesport on SR 14.

The park features the Crawford House, part of a former cattle ranch dating back to the 1800’s.

A network of hiking trails are one of the best ways to see the park. Impressive vistas of the Columbia River and spring wildflowers are some of the highlights. More information about hiking the park is available through Friends of the Columbia River Gorge.

The Washington State’s Parks Commission is planning to ask for funds to rehabilitate the Crawford house in the 2028 budget cycle. Preservation may be needed prior to 2028 to save the structure.
